TV Advice Needed

We're exploring the possibility of acquiring an HDTV (42"-46") and I would appreciate it if any of you guys have any experience (positive or negative) with LCD, plasma or DLP sets. Because we're not really considering hanging it on the wall and cost is a factor, we're leaning towards DLP - any thought?

You are not the only one looking into this. A couple of friends are also looking into this as well.
I was at one friends house for the NFC/AFC Championship, and saw his Samsung 42 inch DLP. He got it from Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7705753&st=samsung+42&type=product&id=1138085296581)
It was very nice. Not as nice as the 100 inch projection in the basement, where we watched the football though. ;-)

The DLP seems to be the conclusion of most I have talked to.

Thanks for the feedback - the Samsung is one that I've looked at seriously. Heh - there's no place in this house that a 100" screen would be even viewable.

I went to BestBuy and checked out the tv's side by side. I decided on the westinghouse 32" LCD because it looked as good as the Bravia except for the reds. AND it was half the price. Nothing beat the Bravia though. Since it was for our bedroom, I didn't really get hung up on which technology when doing the side by side challenge. Remember that the BestBuy demo's are all on a HD bus so they will all look like a million bucks.
