McWho?

Why is ANYone listening to John McCain right now? The guy who was convinced that the economy was fundamentally sound as the financial industry was in free-fall? The guy that turned Indiana and North Carolina blue? Yet I keep hearing him in the news talking against a stimulus bill that he so clearly has absolutely no understanding of. 'Bout time old John retired, isn't it?

You write about two politicians today. One is a tax cheat (who was forced to step aside actually) and one you disagree with. One you respect and one should retire. Hmmmm?

What's your point? One has had some pretty good policy ideas and one is a complete and total tool. I'm happy Daschle is stepping aside - it's the right thing to do. Good for him. My point in the McCain post is not that he's still spouting foolishness - it's that he's emerged as a spokesperson for opposition to the stimulus after his resounding defeat and the repudiation of his policy ideas. Is that just the media being too lazy to find someone new to talk to or is it the wishes of the GOP? I expect the GOP to oppose the bill - it's what they do. I would have just thought that a different leading voice might have made their case better.
