A Little Prayer

Dad's been trying to heal from a wound on his leg for quite some time (he's diabetic and has heart problems so this hasn't been easy). It's become infected and treatment apparently hasn't been effective so far, so when I called his place and got his answering machine then called Mom's house and got HER answering machine, I suspected something was up. My sister did reach me a little while later and confirmed that Mom had taken him to the hospital in Spruce Pine. It wasn't until her second call that I found out that he was being transferred by ambulance to the hospital in Asheville with him in a LOT of pain and very low blood pressure.

Many of you have read Dad's comments in this blog in the past, although he's been a more infrequent visitor since he's been feeling bad. Let me tell you (and I can never say this enough) - my father is one of the best men I know. He's the best friend of more people than I can even imagine knowing and he's been my best friend and the best father a guy could have. He's not the praying type - doesn't believe in it himself. But I can't imagine that he'd take it badly if you folks that are so inclined would say a little prayer for his recovery. So please, burn an incense cone, kneel on your prayer mat, chant, meditate, whatever kind of thing you do - just please put in a good word with your preferred diety for my dad.

Will do...how are you holding up?
I went through something similar to this last week with a family member having emergency surgery, and it is just hard to go through, because you feel so helpless.

Best wishes to your dad- keep us updated.
